The Only Clinical Training for the MN&LOC 3.0 Community Care Assessment
Effective October 1, 2010 Registered Nurses who complete the Medical Necessity and Level of Care (MN&LOC) Assessment for Community Care waivers will be utilizing a new assessment: the MN&LOC 3.0. Attend this exclusive, one-day clinical training in order to:
- Accurately complete the new MN&LOC 3.0 assessment form
- Relate the new form to the 34 Resource Utilization Groups (RUG) set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS)
- Examine how an accurate assessment affects the RUG calculation
Sheri Kennedy, R.N., B.A., M.S.Ed., RAC-MT, President & CEO of Knowledge Solutions, is the conference speaker and expert consultant for CMS, has been actively involved with the Center’s development and training for the nursing facility version of the assessment, the MDS 3.0, from which the Community Care MN&LOC is derived. Ms. Kennedy brings this expertise to the Texas Medicaid Home and Community Based Services Waiver programs and to YOUR agency through this informative workshop.

Note to Providers: This clinical training does not replace the mandatory training required by the HHS OIG provided by Texas State University, but will provide training in the clinical aspects of data collection on the assessment tool.
Continuing Education Information: Texas Association for Home Care & Hospice is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Home Care Administrators/Alternates: Meets continuing education requirements for Administrators and Alternates under HCSSA licensing regulations.
Special note: Program must be attended in its entirety to obtain continuing education credits. Please make travel plans accordingly.
