Verifying Client Eligibility and Service Authorizations via TMHP

As you may know from Sarah's post in the Open Forum this week, the Your Texas Benefits Card website was decommissioned by HHSC in December. HHSC has provided guidance to providers for using the Texas Medicaid and Healthcare Partnership's (TMHP)'s website to check client Medicaid eligibility,  as well as an option to view both eligibility and service authorization information* using the Medicaid Eligibility and Service Authorization Verification (MESAV) system, accessible by login through TexMedConnect.

Providers can verify eligibility without a secure login via the TMHP Providers website by clicking the blue Check Client Eligibility button on the upper right side of the page and navigating to the Client Eligibility Lookup screen. Client information can be entered in the fields provided for your search, and the Results page will show whether or not the client is eligible for Medicaid.

Providers who wish to look up eligibility and service authorization information for their clients may do so by utilizing the TexMedConnect feature on the TMHP Provider website; click the Go To TexMedConnect button in the upper right corner of the page to begin. This functionality requires a secure login and password.

* NOTE: MESAV information is only available to providers for their own clients.
